With the temperatures slowly rising, it’ll soon become time to dust off the old grill in your backyard. While you could make the usual hot dogs and hamburgers, why not change things up with some grilled lobster? Grilling a lobster is easier than you think, and it’ll give you and your family a tasty, unique treat to enjoy on the first warm day of spring.
To get you started, here are the basic steps on how to grill a lobster:
Step 1: Parboil the Lobster
Get some water boiling and throw the lobster in for about 5 minutes. After your five minutes are up, remove it and then put it on ice immediately to prevent further cooking.
Step 2: Cut the Lobster in Half
With a knife, cut the lobster in half and put tiny slits in the claws to let air out.
Step 3: Season the Meat
Baste the meat with butter, lemon juice, and whatever spices you like most. You can look to various lobster recipes or even try out your own combination.
Step 4: Grill the Lobster
Get your grill to medium heat and cook the lobster, meat side down, for about five minutes. Then, flip the lobster over, re-apply your seasonings, butter, etc. and cook shell side down until the meat it nice and white and firm.
